Loose tooth

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

So a few weeks ago, my eye swelled up and the side of my face hurt. Mom knew it hurt because I flinched when she went to pet me on that side. Of course this meant a trip to the doctor.

The doctor couldn’t tell my mom what was going on. He sent us home with an antibiotic and some pain medication. Mom was not satisfied with the doctor’s analysis and took me to a different vet. She inspected me, but said she wasn’t sure what was going on.

Eventually, the swelling went down and everyone stopped worrying. And rightfully so. I was (and still am) eating like a champ. No more flinching when pet on the face. It was all good.

Then tonight, my uncle inspects my teeth and notices one is loose! It is hanging on by a thread. So now mom is thinking I am going to have to have surgery. Yikes!

We will keep you posted on what happens. I just hope I get compensated for my trauma with treats.

Sun Worshipper

Friday, August 21st, 2009

There’s no denying it. I love the sun. Pair that with the human taking a nap and that spells AWESOME.

Do the stripe shadows from the blinds make me look fat?

Gosh Darn Cute

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Summers in Sacramento are hot. When I am hot, I smile. It is a tough call to keep panting so that I can look good or go get a drink of water so I can cool down. I try to let mom get one picture before she picks me up and puts me in frot of my bowl.

Cherry-picking kind of day

Friday, May 29th, 2009

We went over a month ago. But my slacker mom is just getting round to posting about it.

I love going to the pickin’ patch. There are wide rows that a dog can’t pass up sniffing. There are little kids that can’t resist the cuteness of a pug. There is stray fruit that sometimes magically jumps into my mouth. Who wouldn’t love it?

I like cake

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

My mom is a good baker. This is a cake she made for our friend Sierra.

Mom even made little bees out of fondant to decorate the cake. And the bees… they were smiling.

But then my mom left the cover off the back of the CR-V. And I couldn’t restrain myself. I licked the icing off of half the cake.

Mom was pretty upset. She went into the grocery store and bought another cake. But when we got to the party, not a single guest turned their nose up. They just said to cut off the part where I Iicked and then everyone asked for a piece of the beehive cake!!!

Mom felt terrible for not closing the back of the car. But I felt even worse. I was the only one (human, pet, and otherwise) to pop at this birthday party. I am all better now though and I will probably still eat cake if it is left unattended.

Bone chewin’ goodness

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Today was a bath night, although mom sprung it on me kind of ninja-like. Here I thought she was cradling me like a baby, petting my tummy. The next thing I know-BAM!-I’m in the bathtub. There are at least three good things that come out of getting a bath. One is that I am not so itchy anymore. The other is the overwhelming “good girl” and treats I get. The last is laying in bed on my pillow chewing a delicious compressed rawhide bone. Yum!

No Sun. No Fun.

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Usually I love going out to the winery. I find a nice sunny spot where I can rest. I will lay flat on the blacktop driveway when it has been warmed from the sun. But this weekend was COLD. And my mom did a terrible job of keeping me warm. She didn’t even have a sweater for me! I hope that lesson has been learned.

I can play?

Friday, March 20th, 2009

We are fast approaching my one year anniversary with my mom and dad. And my mom has been noticing some new tendencies. For one, when you scratch the right spot, my leg kicks. Secondly, I play now. Here I am with my lamb. Just squeaking away. I think it really makes my mom happy!

Funny baby

Friday, March 13th, 2009

We have this ritual. When my mom or dad come home, I grab the nearest bone and start making this super funny whining sound. My whole body works to shake my tail as vigorously as possible. I spin circles around legs, hands, tables, chairs. It is the most excited I am all day. And this is what I look like when my mom dangles the bone just above the camera:

Missing my momma

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Because mom is so busy at work, I have been staying with my dad. When I am with him, I spend a lot more time out of my little apartment. I don’t know if this is good or bad. I am generally more needy once I have been staying with dad. I guess my parents are going to have to work with me on my self-confidence.

Lately I have taken to sitting on my mom’s dirty clothes and whining for her. I can’t wait for her to have a normal work schedule again.
